The company behind Guitar Hero has released downloadable content for the psp. For a limited time, Activision is offering gamers a downloadable version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock's "Through the Fire and Flames" track. The PSP version will also have an exclusive bonus video featuring Travis Barker from Blink 182. This should come as no surprise to fans of Guitar Hero who have been waiting patiently for months while their console counterparts have been rocking out with special downloads from bands such as the Rolling Stones and Johnny Cash since May 2007. The psp version will also include a special video featuring Travis Barker from Blink 182. UK-based Gamers Europe reports that the offer is only available to those who have already purchased the "All-Access Pass" for Harmonix's downloadable music service, The Rock Band Network. The pass costs $5 and allows gamers to download tracks from a library of over 1,000 songs from bands such as Weezer, 30 Seconds to Mars and Fall Out Boy. All of which can be transferred to the PSP or PlayStation 3 for use in the respective versions of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock released for those systems. The offer also requires that the system is running EIDOS's "unhackable" firmware 1.69, which can be downloaded from the website for this purpose. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe notes that there are no plans to make this available outside of Europe. A few European gamers have posted comments on various internet news websites stating that they have not received the download for "Through The Fire And Flames" after having purchased The Rock Band Network Pass. Gamers Europe is currently investigating the cause of this occurrence. Activision declined to comment on this issue. A representative with Harmonix later confirmed that the issue lies with European PlayStation Store servers not being able to support this download.
